Lisbon Resort Oeiras
A Lisbon Resort where you can relax on the beach but just 20 minutes from the center of town ? That is what you find if you take the train to Oeiras from Cais Sodre. A great place for families wanting to combine culture and sun. You can do the Lisbon monuments all morning and be lying in the sun all the afternoon. If you prefer one of you can take the kids to the beach whilst the other takes in the Lisbon Museums. Santa Amaro de Oeiras Beach is just minutes from the train. Just around the corner are more beaches, Marinas, Cafes and great Seafood Restaurants. Oeiras is full of beautiful areas for picnics as well, and lovely historical buildings - and it is very Portuguese - you won't find crowds from the tour buses here. You can find your own favourite Portuguese beaches and relax. 
Enjoy life at a cafe in front of the beach where children can play to their heart's content.There are two cafes on Santa Amaro beach itself. The Yellow bar is a real beach bar and very reasonable considering the location, the owners are eccentric and the food is pretty good - for more choice walk around the bay to the Marina at Oeiras which has a range of choices from budget self service at Inatel which is often a good choice to expensive sea food at Peter's Bar which is also does lunch time snacks. There are great views back to Lisbon from here with the bridge and the Lisbon Monuments at Belem. It is a great place to take Lisbon Photos of the Monuments with boats coming up the Tajus. Kids love the go-carts that can be hired quite cheaply at the Marina.Tthere is also a fabulous swimming pool here with great diving boards for the adventurous. In winter there are surfing competitions attracting an international crowd. In Spring and Summer yachting events are held here. It is a great place for all water sports and equipment can be hired close by in Carcavelos.

Lisbon Resort - Beautiful Natural EnvironmentThe parks in Oeiras are amazing. The area behind the beach has acres and acres of gardens with places to relax, areas for children to play, picnic tables.
There are also historical gardens and beautiful 18th Country Houses to visit, including the home of the Marques de Pombal who was Conde de Oeiras- Count of Oeiras. 
At the weekend the parks have events and markets. On Sundays people search for bargains at the antique fair. There are often attractions for children - Theatre shows, Sports and Bouncy Castles.
Around OeirasCaxias is another lovely beach area with parks and restaurants near Oeiras. The restaurants in teh village near the park are good.Also there are more beautiful historic gardens to visit with classical stautues.Carcavelos with more trendy bars and restaurants is just a walk away around the bay. A good choice for lively Lisbon Nightlife. The pizzas at Capriccioso are famous and the Karaoke Club is very popular. In Summer there are people on the beach partying into the early hours. Another attraction of this area Carcavelos street market is on a Thursday and attracts a large crowd of bargain hunters for everyday items, children's clothes and beach gear.
