Lisbon is a great place after sun down. People normally start in the historic Bairro Alto area near the Chiado for a drink around Rua Norte. Cafediario on Rua Diario do Noticias is a hot spot. Usually people eat in these atmospheric streets before hitting the late night bars and discos nearer the river. The "in" place is Lux a waterfront disco, part owned by John Malkovich - full of Lisbon's most fashionable trend setters, East of the city near St Apolonia train station. Less fashionable, but with more choice and very busy ,the western Docas area is full of bars and discos. BBC near the April 25th bridge and Kapital in Santos are possibilities. The Santos area west of Cais Sodre is growing in popularity with bars with Discos like Estado Liquido. Lisbon nights go on till dawn and the fun doesn't stop till Portuguese breakfast at one of Lisbon's great cafes. Alternatively, Lisbon has great music clubs with Fado, Brasilian and African sounds in Bairro Alto and Alfama. For African head to the Ritz in Rua Glyria in Bairro Alto. Brasilian - Pe Sujo Largo de Sr Martinho in Alfama. The Hot Club in Praca Alegria near Avenida Liberdade is the best place for Jazz. Lisbon is surrounded by Fantastic Beaches. Some are wild and empty, some have great Bars and Nightlife. There are facilities for sports of every kind and plenty of Marinas.One thing we know about Lisbon from experience with our youngsters - it is great for families.There are lots of attractions for kids like the Oceanarium and the Zoo and so many great places to hang out while they play. The city beaches with good cafes are the biggest attraction for our family. It is a paradise for over worked parents. City in the morning, beach in the afternoon = Lisbon Tourism without stress. We know it works - we have been doing it ourselves for years ! 
After a morning by the sea, Lunch at Peters Oeiras Marina is a pleasant relaxed option. There are pedal carts for children near by.
